Top 11 2014 Favorites

I love to share all the fun things I read, watch, listen to, learn from and laugh at.

Here are my picks for my most favorite things of 2014:

Website: Bustle What’s not to love? Excellent books coverage and a feminist outlook, with lots of pop culture articles too.

Blog: Slaughterhouse 90210 This tumblr blog gets me thinking every time.

Podcast: Death, Sex and Money, Anna Sales and WNYC Yes, I love Serial too–but wait until you hear this one.

Fiction: The Vacationers, Emma Straub and Everything I Never Told You, Celeste Ng I had a hard time picking these ones. But I went with the books I found more memorable this year.

Non-fiction: #GirlBoss, Sophia Amoruso and Bad Feminist, Roxane Gay Both badass books so I had to do a tie.

Album: Houndmouth, The Hills Below the City Technically 2013, but I saw their concert this year.

Twitter Account: @GuyInYourMFA I love parody accounts and anyone with bookish interests will love this one.

TV Show: The Affair, Showtime This show is fantastic because it has two character POVs. Anyone interested in complex narrative structures will enjoy this show.

Film: Gone Girl No one can deny this movie took 2014 by storm–myself included.

Instagram Account: Darling Magazine You’ll get wanderlust after following this gorgeous account.

Magazine: Fast Company I get this delivered each month. Love the tech/innovation/entrepreneurial/business spin they put on everything.
